Whether you want to surf, swim, climb, sail, sightsee, trek, eat, drink or just take amazing pictures, the USA is for you. And you don’t even have to speak a different language!

The United States of America is the world's third largest country in size and nearly the third largest in terms of population. That’s more than twice the size of the European Union! The two oceans that border the country to the west and east and the varied geography ensure that anyone can find something to their taste. Tropical beaches, Rocky Mountains, rolling prairie lands, barren desserts and dense wilderness are just some of the things you can find in the USA.

Important landmarks include huge statues and monuments, volcanoes, The Grand Canyon, buildings, museums, national parks, forts and rivers. Apart from the incredibly varied scenery, fauna and flora – from which we mention the astounding giant sequoia trees- there’s also a load of man-made attractions to check out. You’ll have plenty of restaurants, bars, spas, malls, casinos, amusement parks, shows, plays and films to enjoy yourself at.

The best part of The United States of America is that anyone, no matter their age, sex and interests can have a wonderful time. The immensity of this country means there’s space for everybody to do as they please. Come here if you want to experience the quiet life, head for the back roads to far out farmlands. Come here if you want a fast paced life in a city that never sleeps. Or simply close your eyes and put your finger on the map, and rely on chance to craft the vacation that you need.

Your map just arrived and you don’t know what to do first? We’ve got you!

First, you have to flatten the scratch map. We suggest that you gently slide the map out of the tube and roll it out on a clean, flat surface like a desk or a table, with its protective paper still on. Evenly weight it down by placing books on top, until you trust that it remains flat. Allow it to stay like this for at least a couple of hours.

If you’re one of the lucky people who’s already been to a few American states, you can start scratching using the pen-like scratcher that you found in your box. If you see any smudges or bits of foil left, use the black and white eraser to give your map a clean look. To clean the map off foil shavings and eraser flakes, use the soft black cloth.

Next comes an extra fun part: stickers! You’ll find 3 sheets of activity and memory stickers: 6 speech bubble stickers for you to write names or words, as well as black, blue and red pin shaped stickers to personalize your scratch map. We included 5 3M stickers so that you can stick your scratch map up. They work on glass, wood and walls. Just place your map face down on a flat surface, peel the foil from one side of the stickers, sticking one on each corner and the last one in the center. Next, peel the other foil from the 3M stickers and place it on your surface of choice.

If you plan on keeping your scratch map up for a long time, it’s best to invest into a frame. This way, you can also take it with you if or when you move house. To pick a frame, take into account the visual style of the room you plan on hanging it in. The safest bet would be a thin satin or smooth black frame, but you can also pick something crazy or something that’s the same style as your home. If your furniture is colored wood, like mahogany, a matching frame might be a good idea. Also, if you want to turn this scratch map into a statement piece, you can pick something more colorful like a turquoise frame, or even go over the top with a gold one.
